Fall Season

Springs Bighorns Fall CPHL Season

August-October 2026

Take the next step in your hockey development.

The Springs Bighorns Fall CPHL Season is designed to prepare players for the CHSAA high school season through competitive games, structured practices, off-ice training, video review, and team development.

From August through October, players compete as the Springs Bighorns in the Colorado Prep Hockey League. In November, the same players and coaches transition into the Rampart Rams for the CHSAA winter season. Same players. Same coaches. Same program.

Bighorns in the Fall. Rams in the Winter.

Season Overview

First Practice: Monday, August 3

Season Cost: $675

The Fall season includes:

  • 2–3 practices per week
  • 12–15 CPHL games for Varsity and JV
  • Dryland training
  • Skill Development Court sessions
  • Video review
  • Systems work
  • Special teams development
  • Player evaluation and development

Many fall hockey programs cost well over $1,000 for ice and games alone. We believe this is a strong value for the amount of ice, coaching, competition, and development players receive.

Jerseys

Players will wear custom black and white Springs Bighorns jerseys during the CPHL season.

Jerseys will include the player’s name and number, and players keep them after the season.

Available numbers will be released as soon as possible so families can order jerseys.

Varsity Tournament

Varsity is expected to participate in one fall tournament.

There may be an additional cost of approximately $100. Details will be shared once finalized.

USA Hockey Requirement

All players need a valid 2026–27 USA Hockey number to participate.

Families are encouraged to complete USA Hockey registration early to make team registration smoother.

Why Fall Hockey Matters

Fall hockey is where players prepare for November.

Coaches use the fall season to evaluate players in real hockey situations.

We are looking for players who compete, communicate, backcheck, forecheck, block shots, win puck battles, kill penalties, contribute on special teams, and can be trusted in key moments.

This is a great opportunity for players to earn trust and turn a coach’s head before the CHSAA season begins.

Skill matters.

Consistency, compete level, hockey IQ, attitude, and being a great teammate matter just as much.

Program Standards

Our standard is simple: Two Feet In.

Players are expected to attend practices, games, dryland, video review, SDC sessions, and team activities.

Ice time is earned. It is not guaranteed.

Players who miss practices, dryland, video review, or team activities should expect reduced game opportunities.

Players who are late without communication should expect reduced game time.

TeamBuildr Expectations

Players are expected to be active in TeamBuildr throughout the season.

TeamBuildr will be used for workouts, stickhandling, team communication, attendance, accountability, and program updates.

Stickhandling is a major part of our player development.

The game is too fast for players to think about handling the puck. Players need to catch passes, make plays, and move the puck without thinking about their hands.

What gets measured gets done.

Effort. Attitude. Reaction.

Every player controls three things every time they show up:

  • Effort.
  • Attitude.
  • Reaction.

Poor body language, negative attitudes, emotional outbursts, and being a poor teammate can result in reduced ice time or being benched.

We expect players to be coachable, respectful, competitive, and committed to the team.

Communication

Players are expected to communicate with coaches through TeamBuildr if they will be late or absent.

Parents can support the process, but players need to learn accountability and ownership.

Golf Tournament Requirement

The Springs Bighorns Golf Tournament is the primary fundraiser supporting our hockey program.

Funds raised help pay for ice time, tournaments, Skill Development Court improvements, pucks, training equipment, jerseys, and player development.

Every family is expected to contribute to both fundraising buckets.

Bucket #1 – Revenue:

  • Foursome
  • Silver Sponsor
  • Gold Sponsor
  • Platinum Sponsor

Bucket #2 – Event Support:

  • Silent Auction Item ($50+)
  • Raffle Item
  • Day-of Volunteer Time

Players are also expected to attend the Golf Tournament on Saturday, October 10, 2026, and help manage a hole or assist with tournament operations.

The Opportunity

The Fall CPHL season is a chance to compete, improve, earn trust, and prepare for the CHSAA season.

Players who show up, work hard, communicate, and bring the right attitude will put themselves in the best position to earn roles when November arrives.

Let’s build.
